New processes often have to be introduced into the production line to meet the clients' requirements or due to new developments. These new processes can lead to new circumstances in the existing wastewater treatment plant. To avoid having to make bigger changes or investments the new chemical can often be eliminated by a selective pretreatment such as an AOP or UV oxidation or a Photo-oxidation. In the case of chelates (organic complexing agents, or inorganics like cyanide), significant organic loads (COD, surfactants, active substances, toxic material) or other matter such as the conversion of recalcitrant COD into bioavailable organic compounds (BOD), can be oxidized in our AOP units (Photo-oxidation, UV-Oxidation, Photo-Fenton). This means the existing waste water treatment plant will easily remain within the legal limits. - This type of UV oxidation, Photo-Fenton, or Photo-Oxidation is an elegant, economical and sustainable solution offering the best protection for our environmental.
This is a kinetic slow pretreatment process. Big flow rates, high loads or high concentration gradients can be treated in a better way in a continuous oxidation process: the oxidation process can be kept very smooth and constant by using multi-step UV oxidation cascades. Each of the steps is specially designed for its individual oxidation process. The succession of the steps one after the other constitutes the well operating unit, which shows a stable and routine process with good results, a high UV oxidation rate and low maintenance.
A fast oxidation reaction or small amounts of waste water are usually to be treated in a batch oxidation process. During this process, every batch is individually operated with individual control over the optimum oxidation parameters. Also, strong variations of concentrations of the target molecules or the waste water matrix can easily be handled by a well-designed automation supported by an experienced operator of the UV oxidation or AOP installation.
